KEYAKI TRAY

A large Japanese keyaki (zelkova) wood serving tray. The round tray with fine exposed grain and translucent lacquer finish would have been used to serve tea to guests, and its large size indicating that it might also act as a small table live surface to hold tea pot, cups as well as small dishes for sweets.
